| Shortly after River arrived, her breeder
loaned Holly to me so I could learn to show a Borzoi.
Expectations were low for a somewhat gawky teenager. But she
and I developed a rapport and she blossomed in an environment where
she could be the Princess. Two decades of grooming Collies
also helped me develop the full potential of her luxurious coat.
She started winning, and we converted the temporary loan into a
permanent co-ownership. Holly completed her AKC Championship
six months to the day from our first show together. Her first
Group placement as a young special was my first in any breed. She will continue to be specialed occasionally, but the next goal is motherhood. We're planning a litter in 2008. |
